I had to really search for breastfeeding clothes. I purchased the plain nursing vests and tops from h&m and basically lived in them for the entirety of last summer. If becoming a mum makes you wonder where you left yourself, these clothes do nothing to help that!
I found it extremely frustrating that most nursing tops were also maternity tops. The allow space for your post-partum tum which is good for a few months but after your post-partum tum has gone and you start to get your figure back, you don’t necessarily want to wear ill-fitting clothes!
The more pricey shops like Seraphine do a few but if like me, you don’t know how long you will be nursing for, you can’t justify spending a lot of money on nursing clothes.
I actually found a few very small companies – usually mums which were so frustrated with this that they created their own clothes. Something I would have loved to do if I was as artistic as them! I had to search for them though so to save you the trouble, here are the ones I really liked…
www.breastvest.co.uk – This turns any top into a nursing top! so useful – buy 2, one in black and one in white, you won’t regret it.
www.milkandmummy.com – I like that this was started my a mummy who struggled to find clothes so decided to start her own company.
www.stylishmamas.co.uk – Like the above, started by an entrepreneurial mama!
hot mama breastfeeding – I found this lady on etsy and bought a number of her pieces
